Sifriyat Pijama (Hebrew for “Pajama Library,”) is the Israeli version of the American program PJ Library. Sifriyat Pijama is a classroom-based reading-readiness program, operated in partnership with the Israeli Ministry of Education, that aims to instill Jewish values and a life-long love of reading in young Israelis.

Maktabat al-Fanoos (Arabic for “Lantern Library,”) is a classroom-based literacy program for all young children in Arab schools in Israel from preschool through second grade. Students read and engage with the books with their teachers in the classroom and then take them home to enjoy again and again with their families.
