HGF is seeking a dynamic Analytics Intern to join our team supporting multiple foundation initiatives, including the flagship program, PJ Library®. This part-time position (15 – 20 hours a week) will lead projects and will report to the Operations Analyst. Ideally, an Intern will begin June 3rd and end August 2nd, 2024, however we remain flexible on dates.

Responsibilities:

  • Project: Conducting an analysis on PJL volume forecasting and actual books sent out to assess the alignment between our ordering quantities and subscribers' book needs at the time of shipment, potentially utilizing Tableau software. Additionally, exploring ways to refine the volume forecast check-in process for enhanced monitoring and decision-making.
  • Document Analytics processes and procedures.
  • Assisting with Tableau Champions resource documentation.
  • Support in optimizing Tableau Online environment through streamlined processes for cleanliness and functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with Senior Analytics Manager and Operations Analyst who will hand off ad-hoc projects, set priorities and inspect the output.
  • Develop Tableau Admin Dashboard tailored to HGF using Admin Insights data source provided by Tableau online.
  • Assist Research & Evaluation with various tasks (1-2 hours per week)
  • Participate in weekly purchasing meetings, bi-weekly PJOW production updates, and monthly cost accounting meetings.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Student working toward a college degree.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite, especially Excel.
    • Comfortable with basic functions like VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Preferred experience with Tableau

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, concentrating, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Location

This position can be either remote or based out of the home office in Agawam, Massachusetts.
