About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, the Engagement Officer will be part of a team dedicated to building a cooperative network and specialize in professional learning, designing relevant resources to inspire and support more than 200 passionate PJ Library Program Professionals across the continent to engage families with young children in Jewish life, both within and outside the organized Jewish community.

  • Create continuing education and professional development opportunities using a variety of modalities for professionals, including a comprehensive onboarding strategy, content for the PJ Library international conference, and more.
  • Explore and interact with trends in the global field of family engagement.
  • Coach and consult with communities around areas of family engagement strategy
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the engagement department and other adjacent departments at HGF.
  • Support all efforts that emerge from the Engagement department, including grants, trainings, resource creation, and more.
  • Travel on a regular basis within the US/Canada for PJ Library Conferences, group trainings and community site visits following CDC guidelines and HGF organizational policy.


  • Experience in early childhood teaching and making Judaism accessible to a wide range of professionals and families
  • Experience in creating modules and learning opportunities
  • Strong knowledge of Judaism and the Jewish community
  • Outstanding written, organizational and presentation skills
  • Engaging interpersonal and networking skills with a positive attitude
  • Expertise in engaging families with young children in Jewish life, both within and outside the organized Jewish community
  • Experience with 1:1 coaching, relationship building, strategic planning and goal setting
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and ability to work independently
  • Support and encouragement of the wide range of ways families choose to engage with Judaism and Jewish community
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's degree; Minimum five years of experience in related fields


Position is remote, with travel to PJ Library communities in the US/Canada as well as the Harold Grinspoon Foundation headquarters in Agawam, MA.
