Position Overview
The Harold Grinspoon Foundation is searching for a Communications Manager to help elevate the work of the foundation and its programs including PJ Library®, Life & Legacy®, and JCamp 180®. This position will help create and coordinate external communications with PR vendors and internal stakeholders for a cohesive communications strategy including earned, paid, and social media. If you are a strong communicator and writer with a deep understanding of the global Jewish community, then this is the right role for you. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the arc and strategy for external communications across all the HGF’s programs
- Create and coordinate internal core communications team to identify stories from each program’s area of expertise.
- Create and maintain a media calendar for use across the foundation
- Coordinate with PJ Library Advancement team to ensure foundation-wide communications strategy aligns with donor stewardship and communications calendar
- Liaise with PR vendors to oversee press releases, pitches, placed stories/op-eds
- Collaborate with the HGF social media team to publish timely stories from the HGF and its partners
- Manage projects with freelance writers
- Create/edit HGF blog posts and articles for publication on our channels and outside channels
- Create/edit case studies, white papers, sponsored content for marketing the HGF programs and to promote brand authority
- Create and maintain boiler plate/talking points to keep the HGF facts and figures up to date
- Ensure HGF website content is accurate, dynamic, and features key HGF news
- Prepare media reports to help track campaigns
- Help elevate the HGF and select staff as thought leaders
- Work collaboratively and effectively with Foundation leadership and program directors
Requirements
- Deep understanding of global Jewish communities and the Jewish philanthropic space
- 8 to 10 years of experience in communications, journalism, PR or related field
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Strong copy-editing skills
- Experience managing vendor relationships and external PR firms
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiatives on projects
- Strong collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, concentrating, and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
Location
This position is a hybrid position, reporting into our Agawam, MA home office.
Compensation
A competitive salary ranging from $85,000 - $100,000 annually.
