About the Opportunity

HGF is seeking a dynamic Analytics Specialist to join our growing team supporting multiple foundation initiatives, including the foundation's use and integration of Tableau as a visual analytics platform. This full-time position will support tracking and analysis of key program metrics to determine program effectiveness and help identify opportunities for improvement and further investment. It reports to the HGF Analytics Manager.

Responsibilities:

The Analytics Specialist's primary responsibilities are to assist the Analytics Manager in collecting and analyzing data related to HGF's broad portfolio of initiatives including PJ Library, JCamp 180, and Life & Legacy. This position partners closely with various project sponsors to develop reporting/dashboards/products and recommendations to enhance and improve program effectiveness and efficiency, based on the analysis provided. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Tableau, along with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. More specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with internal sponsors and IT Data Team to design, build and maintain high-level Tableau dashboards that communicate key information and drive actionable insights across HGF programs and business teams in areas such as Podcast engagement, book selection, grant analysis, marketing and development campaign monitoring, and third-party application reporting

  • Conduct meaningful data analysis and ad hoc reporting to call attention to business growth and optimization opportunities

  • Manage Tableau Online space including user group management, permissions, site metric monitoring and troubleshooting user issues

  • Support the integration of Tableau as an analysis platform for the entire organization, including assisting in adhoc trainings, user support, and community building initiatives

  • Maintain the Tableau Center of Excellence for the entire foundation’s use/reference

Requirements:

  • Proficient with Tableau Data Visualization software

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Able to communicate across various levels of technical understanding within the organization

  • Ability to move forward multiple time-sensitive projects all taking place at the same time

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel

  • Demonstrated analytical experience

  • Beginner or intermediate SQL knowledge and skills a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least two years fulltime work experience in the fields of Marketing, Research, Analytics, Measurement/Evaluation, or other related; graduate degree preferred
