About the Opportunity:

Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the accountant supports and manages various administrative and financial functions. The accountant interacts with other staff, grantees, auditors, vendors, and other external partners.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare journal entries and financial reports.

  • Track prepaids and prepare monthly prepaid journal entries.

  • Maintain bank account reconciliations and cash management.

  • Prepare weekly donation reports for leadership and advancement teams.

  • Reconcile the grants system to the general ledger and prepare import/export files for both systems.

  • Process expense reports and manage employee and company credit cards.

  • Process new vendor request for accounts payable and grant payments.

  • Manage intercompany transactions.

  • Reconcile accounts and review reconciliations prepared by others.

  • Support leadership with financial and administrative projects.

  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the CFO.

  • Serve as a backup for payroll and benefits administration.



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years' experience working in an accounting, finance, or payroll function.
  • Experience with Intacct and Paylocity is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proactive work style, self-motivated, and detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required (in person, via e-mail, and on telephone), and ability to compose effective, thoughtful correspondence
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with complete discretion
  • Advanced interpersonal skills the including ability to interact effectively with leadership and staff
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
  • Analytical, with the ability to balance multiple priorities
