B'nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy Program
Beyond the party. Beyond the family. Beyond the hora.
Beyond the gifts.*
The B’nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy Program is redefining what it means to be a Jewish philanthropist by showing young people that they have the power to make change in the world. This program is a tool for teens to give tzedakah, and get involved in community service and social action projects.
These days, it’s a challenge to make a Bar/Bat Mitzvah a life-changing, meaningful Jewish experience. This important rite of passage, an introduction to life as a responsible Jew and human being, can easily get lost in a haze of party-planning and gift-giving.
B’nai Tzedek offers an engaging solution. By teaching teens to be philanthropists, we place in their hands the most valuable Bar/Bat Mitzvah gift, we teach them how to give.
By joining B’nai Tzedek, teens develop a commitment to tzedakah, learn about Jewish organizations and are part of exciting educational programming. B’nai Tzedek members are exposed to a diverse group of Jewish teens and Jewish organizations that are working to change the world. Bar/Bat Mitzvah age is the perfect time to become a philanthropist.
