B'nai Tzedek:
The B'nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy Program is opening up new possibilities for how young people can help create a more just society. An innovative and powerful branch of Tzedakah, B'nai Tzedek is redefining what it means to be a philanthropist that one does not have to be wealthy to have a personal and engaged relationship to life-long giving.
Teen Initiative:
Jewish teens are busy people-- between late-night phone calls, tons of homework, web surfing, hanging out, emailing friends, renting movies, sweating over the SATs and wondering if that certain someone is going to call, how can Jewish teens connect with other Jewish teens in Western Massachusetts?
The Harold Grinspoon Foundation started the Teen Initiative as a way to support and expand opportunities for Jewish teens in Western Massachusetts. The Foundation provides matching grants of up to $10,000 to synagogues in Western Massachusetts for teen programs.
Year Round Youth Experience:
The Year Round Youth Experience grants funds to youth from Western Massachusetts to participate in Jewish activities outside of the region. The Harold Grinspoon Foundation believes that Jewish teens in Western Massachusetts will benefit from participation in Jewish teen activities that take place outside of Western Massachusetts. By sharing Jewish experiences with Jewish teens outside of the region, local teens connect to the broader Jewish community and bring their experience back to Western Massachusetts.
