Guidelines 2007 - 2008
Community-Wide Events Overview:
As part of the Teen Initiative, each partner site is a part of the greater community of synagogues that support Jewish teen life in Western Massachusetts. Funded Teen Initiative sites are eligible to apply for additional funds to co-organize Community Wide Events.
A Community-Wide Event is an activity planned through a collaboration of two or more Teen Initiative sites which is open to all teens throughout Western Massachusetts and publicized to all sites or an event organized by the Foundation.
By providing a forum where Jewish teens can interact with Jewish teens from other sites, The Harold Grinspoon Foundation hopes to encourage Jewish teens to identify themselves as Jews and participate in Jewish living.
Goals:
- To support Teen Initiative sites to enhance their collaborations with other Teen Initiative sites to coordinate community wide Jewish activities for teens.
- To connect Teen Initiative sites to events coordinated by the Foundation (including Arts and Culture Initiative Programs or B'nai Tzedek, etc. )
- To encourage sites to participate in events and activities organized by the Jewish community in Western Massachusetts (including: Federation, Hillel, Yiddish Book Center, Hatikivah Center, etc.)
