COOLER COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS

The Cooler Communities school grant program was piloted in 2019 and aims to strengthens young people’s leadership on energy and climate-related issues. It leverages students’ curriculum work on energy and climate change to take a whole community on a path toward lower emissions and clean energy.

We offer grants, professional development, as well as classroom support to school districts across Massachusetts to elevate their teaching of climate solutions. We then host a community event where students and service providers educate parents and the wider community about climate friendly choices they can make in their lives, homes, and communities and ask them to pledge action.

ENERGY DETECTIVES

The Energy Detectives is the latest offering under the umbrella of Cooler Communities. This engaging and interactive picture book is free to order for all elementary teachers in New England to use in the classroom and for their students to take home. K-4 grade standard aligned curriculum is available on the website as well as links to resources for parents.

ENER-G-SAVE

ener-G-save works with towns, grassroots organizations, other nonprofits, and schools to lower carbon pollution and help Pioneer Valley and Berkshire residents make-smart energy choices. Through our community outreach program, people are encouraged to take full advantage of existing energy efficiency incentives to live more comfortably and affordably.
